Raipur: Tragedy struck a family who had gone on a vacation to have fun over the weekend. Six members of the same family lost their lives after falling into the waterfall. Officials said that the incident took place in Koria district of Chhattisgarh. 15 family members from Madhya Pradesh had come for a picnic on Sunday at Ramdaha Waterfalls under Kotdal Police Station.
Officials said that information was received on Sunday that seven people were missing in the water while bathing under the falls. Two of them were rescued and taken to the hospital. However, one of them died while undergoing treatment. After that, the bodies of two others were found. The bodies of the remaining three tourists were recovered on Monday morning.
The dead who were recovered on Monday were identified as Shweta Singh (22), Shraddha Singh (14) and Abhay Singh (22). Officials said that the bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. The police said that the accident happened because tourists were going to take a bath, even though warning boards had been set up not to bathe in the water.
