Rajiv Gandhi Case Nalini Sriharan.. The convicts in former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination case are finally being released from jail. After nearly 31 years of imprisonment, Nalini was released as a convict.
It is known that the Supreme Court ordered the release of six convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case on Friday. Nalini Sriharan alias Nalini Murugan, one of the six convicts in the Rajiv murder case, was released from Vellore Jail on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, the jail authorities released Nalini after completing all the necessary formalities. Further, the Supreme Court of the country has issued an order to release Robert Pius, Ravichandran, Sriharan, Jayakumar and Shantanu along with Nalini in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
However, the Supreme Court announced this verdict after conducting a full investigation on the petition filed by Nalini and Ravichandran. On the other hand.. Nalini, Sriharan alias Murugan, Shantanu, AG Perarivalan, Jayakumar, Robert Pius and Ravichandran are the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Last May 18, Perarivalan was released from jail on parole. The remaining six convicts are serving their sentences in different jails in Tamil Nadu. In 1991, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi died in a suicide attack in Sriperumbudur.
