Bangalore/Banashankari: Bengaluru shook like a twig due to heavy rains. From 8 pm on Sunday to 5 am on Monday morning, 13 cm of heavy rain fell. Many areas are under water. Roads resemble ponds. Ponds and canals are overflowing. Government officials have deployed boats and tractors for relief operations.
In many parts of the city on Monday morning, students and employees reached educational institutions and offices in boats. Apartments, basements of huge buildings, vehicles parked in front of houses were submerged in water. Mainly in Whitefield, Indiranagar, Kangeri, RR Nagar, Bommanahalli, Marathalli and Mahadevapura, the flood intensity is high.

Outer ring road area is flooded by IT companies. The transport system was paralyzed. The vehicles were stopped everywhere as the floods were raging on the roads. Water entered the hospitals. Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said that SDRF teams have been sent for relief operations. Bengaluru is likely to experience light to heavy rains in the next 48 hours, the Meteorological Department has said. The airport road was submerged due to water entering the international airport. Passengers leaving for the airport filmed videos walking in knee-deep water and posted them on social media.
