✅Dumka Victim Ankita Minor Says Jharkhand Child Welfare Panel

In Jharkhand’s Dumka, a student was burnt alive by a lover. The Child Welfare Committee has confirmed that the victim is not a major but a minor. This panel ordered the police to register a case and charges against the accused under the POCSO Act.

Ranchi: Akinta Singh’s murder has become a topic of discussion across the country. The age of the victim, who is studying in class 12, has been included in the report for 19 years. But to the media, the age is said to be 17 years. Ankita’s family has objected to the different statements made by the police about her age. The Child Welfare Committee came into the field and made a statement confirming her age as 15 years. Moreover, in the recorded statement, she instructed the local SP to correct her age.

Ankita Kumari Singh of Dumka area was harassed by Shah Rukh Hussain (19) who was a neighbor in the name of love and marriage. His behavior did not change even though he was reprimanded by the elders. In this order, he poured petrol on her while she was sleeping at home on 23rd August and ran away.

Ankita passed away on 28th August while being treated at Phulo Jano Medical Hospital College with 90% severe injuries. In this incident, it was found that the victim was harassed and pressured to convert, and this murder led to severe tensions in the locality. Along with BJP, Bajrang Dal activists started fighting for the victim’s justice. Demanding an encounter with the accused, they took up agitations. On the other hand, under the pressure of BJP, a compensation of ten lakh rupees was announced to the victim’s family. Her father Sanjeev Singh protested against the compensation. CM Hemant Soren announced that a fast-track court has been set up for speedy justice in the case.

Meanwhile, some photos of the victim who is close to the accused Shah Rukh Hussain are going viral on the net. Ankita’s family responded to this. It is said that efforts are being made to get the accused out of the way and to sidestep the case. Ankita’s family has warned that if they do not get justice for their daughter, they will start a death march.

Do not make photos and videos viral

Meanwhile, a two-member fact-finding committee from the National Commission for Women visited Dumka today (Wednesday) and collected details on the murder of Dumka minor. However, NCW Legal Counselor Shalini Singh has objected to releasing the photos and videos of the victim on social media. She commented that it is a matter of the victim’s self-respect, which needs to be protected.
