Witness, New Delhi: Another election bell rang in India. The Central Election Commission announced the schedule of Gujarat Assembly elections on Thursday. CEC Rajeev Kumar disclosed the details. He said that elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. Counting will be done on 8th and the results will be announced. The CEC said that there are a total of 182 legislative seats in the state. Elections will be held for 89 seats in the first phase and 93 seats in the second phase.

Key to Modi and Shah
There are total 182 Assembly seats in Gujarat Assembly. The term of the assembly will end on February 18. Presently BJP has 111 members and Congress has 62 members. And the main competition in the latest elections will be between BJP, Congress and AAP. AAP, which has already announced the names of 100 candidates, has increased its aggressiveness in the campaign. On the other hand, the Kamalam party, which has been in power for 27 years, is ready to show its power once again. This election is going to be crucial for Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah before the 2024 general elections. Both of them are trying hard not to lose their hold in their own state. There are 4.90 lakh voters in the state. There are 51,782 polling stations.
