Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has given another shock to the ruling party of West Bengal. While Partha Chatterjee, a key leader in the school jobs scam, has already been arrested, the state’s chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has recently been summoned. As part of the coal smuggling scam case, it has clarified that it will attend the hearing at its office in Kolkata on Friday.
We have issued summons to Abhishek Banerjee to appear before our officers. Our officers will come from Delhi to interrogate him.’ Said a senior ED official. On the other hand, Mamata, who participated in a rally in Kolkata on Monday, criticized the BJP. Allegedly, there are chances of central investigation agencies giving notices to his nephew. As she thought, the ED issued the summons on the very next day.
