✅UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s Father Said Goa Property Grabbed

Panaji: It is known that Suella Braverman of Indian origin was appointed as the Home Secretary immediately after Liz Truss took the reins as the British Prime Minister. To this extent, Christy Fernandez, father of British Home Secretary Braverman, has an ancestral property of about 13,900 sq. km in Assago, Goa. Goa Superintendent of Police (SIT) officer Nidhi Vasan said Braverman’s father, Christy Fernandes, had complained that the property had been encroached upon.

Based on Fernandez’s complaint, they have registered a case and started investigation. Police sources said that the properties belonging to Fernandes’ family members at Assagao village bearing survey numbers 253/3, 252/3 have complained that some unidentified persons have filed inventory proceedings through power of attorney.

He said in the complaint that he came to know in August that the said persons had filed the proceedings on July 27 this year. Fernandez complained to the Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Director General of Police Jaspal Singh to the Goa NRI Commissionerate through an email.

In this order, Goa NRI Commissioner Narendra Savaikar said that his department received an email last week and it has been sent to the state home department. To this extent, the Goa government has constituted a SIT comprising officials from the Police, Revenue, Archives and Archeology departments earlier this year to prevent such cases of land grabbing. This SIT is investigating more than 100 cases related to such land grabbing cases in the state.
