Gandhinagar: Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal criticized the ruling BJP in Gujarat. He responded to this the day after the government announced that it would set up a committee on the implementation of common civic memory in the state. He asked what is BJP’s intention in saying that UCC will be implemented only in Gujarat and not across the country. It was described as a gimmick for assembly elections. MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi also raised similar questions. If UCC is to be implemented, it should be brought nationwide.
Kejriwal reminded that the BJP had done the same rush before the Uttarakhand assembly elections. He criticized that the UCC had formed a committee to implement it, but after winning the election, it did not take action. He alleged that even now they are raising the same issue to gain advantage in the Gujarat assembly elections.
This time, Kejriwal, who wants to win the Gujarat assembly elections, has focused on this state. Going on trips often. He will participate in rallies in Bhavnagar and Rajkot districts along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Sunday as well.
