Digital Desk, New Delhi. In the last 24 hours, 2,64,202 new cases of corona were registered in India. Around 17,000 more cases have been reported from the previous day. In addition, 315 deaths were recorded, taking the total number of deaths to 4,85,350.
Meanwhile, the active figure stands at 12,72,072 which is 3.48 per cent of the total number of positive cases in the country. The number of Omicron infections has increased to 5,753 across the country. So far, 28 states have reported Omicron infections, the ministry said.
With 1,09,345 patients getting cured in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number has increased to 3,48,24,706. As a result, India’s recovery rate stands at 95.20 per cent. Also in the same period, a total of 17,87,457 tests were conducted across the country, taking the total tests to 69.90 crore.
Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate has reached 11.83 per cent amid a sudden spike in cases. The daily positivity rate stands at 14.78 percent. With the administration of more than 73 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID vaccination coverage has reached 155.39 crores till this morning. More than 15.17 crores remaining and unused COVID vaccines, the ministry said. The dosages are still available with the states and union territories.
