The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has started preparations to deal with the increasing new case of corona. Routine recruitment in AIIMS has been banned. Along with this, non-essential surgeries have also been stopped. In this regard, a letter was issued on Friday by Dr DK Sharma, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS.

It has been said that OPD services will continue to function in AIIMS Hospital and all its centers for follow-up of new and already admitted patients. Apart from this, it has been said that all the specialty clinics will be closed for the time being and the appointment registration will continue for the follow-up of the patients admitted in the specialty clinic.

Apart from this, all regular recruitment and all routine procedures, non-essential surgeries will be temporarily stopped till further orders. Let us tell you that there are more than 30 thousand active patients in Delhi, out of which 24 patients are on ventilator. Delhi Health Minister Satendra Jain has given this information. He told that the admission of patients in the hospital is increasing. This wave is expected to reach the peak soon. About 17 thousand new corona cases have been registered in Delhi in the last 24 hours. Here the positivity rate is at 17%.

At the same time, new cases of Omicron are also increasing in Delhi. At present, 465 cases of Omicron have been reported in Delhi. A total of 25,127 people have died due to corona in Delhi so far. The corona death rate is 1.69 percent. At the same time, there are 14,937 patients in home isolation and its rate is 2.11 percent with the number of active patients being 31, 498.
