The Supreme Court has constituted a 5-member committee to investigate the matter of PM Modi’s security breach in Punjab. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to the Supreme Court to stay the media trial till the completion of the investigation in this case.
In fact, after Aaj Tak’s sting operation on the matter of lapse in the security of PM Modi, the Punjab government has come under the target of BJP. In Aaj Tak’s sting operation, it was revealed that the police officers, including the SHO of Punjab Police, had told that the state government had not given any direction to remove the protesting farmers. After this revelation, BJP leaders are fiercely targeting the Congress and the Punjab government.
Demand for ban on media trial and rhetoric
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, I appeal to the Supreme Court that media trials and rhetoric should be banned till the investigation of this matter is completed. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that a committee has been constituted by the Supreme Court regarding this matter and to know the truth should wait for the report of this committee.
There was a lapse in PM Modi’s security on January 5
PM Modi went on a Punjab tour on 5 January. He was to attend the rally in Ferozepur. But due to bad weather they could not go by helicopter. In such a situation, he decided to go to Firozpur by road. Here some protesters had blocked the way while going to Hussainiwala by road. After this PM Modi’s convoy stayed here for 15-20 minutes. This is being considered a big lapse in the security of PM Modi.
BJP surrounded Congress after revelations in sting operation
After the revelations, Union Minister Smriti Irani surrounded the Congress by holding a press conference. Questioning the Punjab government, Irani said that the truth of the lapse in PM’s security has been exposed. Congress deliberately kept the PM insecure. She said that the Congress leaders were looking down on security. Irani asked the Punjab government that on whose behest did the DGP give route clearance? She said that the lapse in the security of the Prime Minister is not only condemnable but also punishable.
