The speed of corona in the country is increasing continuously. In the last 24 hours, 2 lakh 47 thousand 417 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. After the arrival of new cases, the number of active corona patients in the country has increased to 11 lakh 17 thousand 531. The new corona cases found in the country are 27.1% more than yesterday. There has been an increase of 1,62,212 active cases in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra tops the top 5 states with the highest number of cases. In Maharashtra, 46,723 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. After this, 27,561 cases were reported in Delhi, 22,155 cases in West Bengal, 21,390 cases in Karnataka and 17,934 cases in Tamil Nadu. 54.87% of new cases have come from these five states. Maharashtra alone is responsible for 18.88% of the new cases.
In the last 24 hours, 481 corona patients have died in the country, taking the total death toll to 4,84,859. Kerala has the highest number of deaths of 300, while in Delhi, 40 corona patients died. A total of 84,825 patients were cured in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured people across the country to 3,47,15,361.
Corona’s daily positivity rate is 13.11 percent while the weekly positivity rate is 10.80 percent. A total of 69.73 crore tests have been done in the country so far. The recovery rate of Corona in the country is 95.59%. Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 154.61 crore vaccine doses have been given so far.

According to the report of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of Omicron infected in India has crossed 5 thousand. So far, 5488 cases of new variant Omicron of Corona have been registered in the country. Maharashtra tops the list with 1,281 and Rajasthan 645. After this, 546 cases of Omicron have been reported in Delhi so far. Apart from this, cases have been reported in Karnataka (479), Kerala (350), West Bengal (294), Uttar Pradesh (275), Gujarat (236), Tamil Nadu (185) and Haryana (162). Out of the total patients of Omicron found so far, 1,805 have been cured. Omicron now has 3,063 cases in the country.
The Health Ministry said that the corona positivity rate was 1.1 percent on 30 December, which increased to 11.05 percent on 12 January. The ever-increasing cases of corona in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, UP, Kerala, Gujarat remain a matter of concern.
