In India, 1,59,632 cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. 12.4% more cases have been reported in the country as compared to Saturday. The surprising thing is that a large number of doctors are also getting infected in this third wave of corona. A large number of doctors and medical staff have been found corona positive in Mumbai and Delhi. More than 400 doctors in Mumbai while in Delhi about 1000 doctors and medical staff are corona infected.

407 resident doctors infected in Mumbai

So far 407 doctors have become corona positive in Maharashtra. According to the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors, Corona positive doctors are being treated in different hospitals. These include 100 in JJ Hospital, 01 in VDGMCH Latur, 1 in SVNGMC Yavatmal, 08 in SBHGMC Dhule, 02 in GMC Miraj, 07 in HBTMC and Dr RN Cooper Hospital, 01 in IGGMC Nagpur, 03 in GMC Aurangabad, 88 in KEM Mumbai, There are 104 doctors in Sion, 10 in RGMC Thane, 5 in VMGMC Solapur, 10 in BJGMC Pune, 02 in DRSCGMC Nanded, 06 in YCMH Pimpri and 59 in NAIR.

In the last 24 hours, 41,434 new cases of corona have been reported in the state. At the same time, 133 new cases of Omicron variant have also come to the fore. The total number of Omicron infected patients in the state has gone up to 1,009.

11 doctors of delhi lnjp hospital corona positive

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain told that about 1000 doctors and health workers in Delhi are corona positive. He told that till now the report of 11 doctors in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital has come corona positive. There are also five doctors infected with the Omicron variant. He said that health services are not going to be affected due to doctors getting infected. The Health Minister said that there are more than two lakh health workers. We are well prepared. The Delhi government has also trained health assistants and they will be deployed if needed.

Dr Suresh Kumar, Director, LNJP Hospital said that the report of 26 of our staff members has come positive. These include 11 doctors and the rest are nursing staff and sanitation workers. He also said that five Omicron infected patients have been admitted to the facility while 180 people have been discharged.

According to the Health Department data, seven more deaths were registered in Delhi on Saturday due to corona, while 20,181 new infected were found. The corona positivity rate has increased to 19.60 percent.

2000 doctors died in the second wave

According to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), around 2000 doctors died during the second wave. The IMA had told that the death rate among health workers is higher as compared to the death rate in the public. In the second wave, about 100,000 doctors were infected.
