Corona Omicron in Delhi: The cases of Corona and Omicron are increasing rapidly in the capital Delhi. On Monday, 19 thousand 166 new cases came in Delhi. 17 people also died. According to the data of the Health Department, 70 corona patients have died in 10 days of this month. On Sunday and Monday, 17-17 people died. Whereas, there were 54 deaths in the previous 5 months. 9 patients died in December, 7 in November, 4 in October, 5 in September and 29 in August. In July, 76 patients died.

These figures show that the speed of Corona in Delhi is becoming unbridled. The number of patients admitted in hospitals is also increasing continuously. According to the Delhi government, 1912 corona patients are currently admitted in the hospital. Of these, 443 are in ICU, 503 are on oxygen support and 65 are on ventilator. Whereas, a day before this, 1,618 corona patients were hospitalized. That is, within 24 hours, the number of patients admitted to the hospital increased by 18 percent.

What kind of preparation does Delhi need?

There are currently 65,803 active cases in Delhi. Of these, 44,028 patients are in home isolation. Officials say that if 1 lakh cases come every day, then 28 thousand oxygen beds and 18 thousand ICU beds will be needed.

At the same time, if 75 thousand patients come every day, then 21 thousand oxygen beds and 13,500 ICU beds will be needed. Similarly, if 50 thousand cases come every day, then 14 thousand oxygen beds and 7,200 ICU beds may be required.

How ready is Delhi?

Professors of IIT Kanpur and IIT Hyderabad estimate that by January 15, the peak of corona may come in Delhi. During this, from 35 thousand to 70 thousand new cases can come every day.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that his government is ready to handle 1 lakh corona patients every day. He had said that 3 lakh tests can be done every day. There is also medical oxygen and medicines.

According to the Health Department, there are 14,355 beds in Kovid hospitals in Delhi till January 10. Of these, 1,999 beds are full. At the same time, out of 4,582 beds in the Kovid Care Center, there are patients on 666 beds. Whereas, there are 158 beds in the Kovid Health Center, out of which 34 patients are admitted.
