Amidst the increasing cases of Corona, the Central Government has written a letter to all the states. In this, the states have been asked to keep a close watch on the situation. In a letter to the states and union territories, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that in the current situation, only five to 10 percent of active cases require hospitalization amid the surge in corona cases. The situation is changing rapidly and the pace of cases is also increasing day by day. In such a situation, the number of people admitted to the hospital can also increase rapidly. We have to be ready for this. All states and union territories are advised to keep a watch on the total number of cases and the number of active cases.

It has been said in the letter of the Ministry of Health that the requirement of health workers should be reviewed on the basis of surveillance. Along with this, the availability of health workers should be reviewed daily. In a letter to the states and union territories, Bhushan said that during the second wave of corona in the country, the number of active cases in the hospital was between 20-23 percent.

He said that the cases of corona are increasing in different parts of the country. This also includes cases for the Delta with the Omicron variant. In this regard, emphasis has been given to states and union territories regarding corona management and human resources, especially to increase health workers.

Earlier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a meeting with the Health Ministers and high officials of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Maharashtra. During this, the preparations to deal with Corona and other aspects related to it were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, the Union Health Minister advised the Health Ministers of five states and one union territory to strengthen the health infrastructure, establish teleconsultation hubs in every district and focus on wider awareness in the available infrastructure and healthcare.
