Digital Desk, New Delhi. Amidst the rising corona cases in Delhi, the corona virus has created an uproar in the Parliament House as well. So far 718 officers, employees and security personnel of Parliament House have been infected. Kovid tests are being done continuously for the employees and security personnel working here. According to the information, out of the total 718 that have come positive so far in the Parliament House, 204 are employees of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, while the remaining 514 are from the infected Lok Sabha Secretariat and allied services.

The rapid spread of corona infection in Parliament House just before the start of the budget session of Parliament has raised the concern of Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Both the presiding officers are holding regular meetings to prevent infection. Their effort is to make the atmosphere of Parliament House normal before the budget session. At present, orders have been given to 50 percent officers and employees below the level of Under Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to work from home by the end of January.
