- Corona cases more than 1.5 lakh daily
- Do not be afraid, it is very important to be careful with Corona
Corona infection has now gained full speed in the country. For the past few days, the graph of infected daily is crossing one and a half lakhs. There is concern about the treatment of patients of fast-spreading Omicron and Kovid infection. Even though the new variant is spreading rapidly, but doctors say that it is very mild, there is no need to be afraid of it. But it is very important to be careful.
What do AIIMS doctors say on Kovid
In the medical department of AIIMS, Prof. Dr. Neeraj Nischal said that there is no magic medicine for corona. Also, no specific treatment for this infection has been revealed yet. In this case, be careful. Also, patients should be closely monitored. Also, such elderly people with comorbidity who have not yet been vaccinated, need to take special care of them.
Emphasize on increasing immunity, do not rely on medicines
Dr. Neeraj Nischal said that patients with mild symptoms can be treated at home. For this it is not necessary to see a doctor or take heavy medicines. We have to get out of this mentality that by taking medicine only one can be cured of any disease. It can also be cured by staying at home with minor treatment. In the third wave, the symptoms are very mild in most of the patients of Omicron variant and Kovid. It is better that people trust their immunity system. raise it. Therefore, adopt healthy lifestyle, vaccination and preventive measures against Kovid.
Medicine can damage these body parts
Dr. Nischal said that recently Molnupiravir has been approved in Kovid. But this is not a magic pot. He said that molnupiravir can affect the rapidly dividing cells of humans. Like the cells of the reproductive organs in men, fetuses in pregnant women, young adults and children, bone damage can occur.
These drugs are not effective against Omicron
According to Dr. Nischal in AIIMS, efforts should be made to restrict the use of this drug, as it has more harm than benefit. It should not become an over-the-counter medicine. Also another drug that is being administered to patients is a cocktail of monoclonal antibodies (casirivimab and imdevimab). It should be remembered that it is not effective against Omicron.
Big Concerns About Molnupiravir
Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research Dr. Balram Bhargava said last week that there are some major concerns regarding Molnupiravir. It is not included in the national protocol as a treatment for COVID-19.
Now only 5-10 percent need hospital
It has been said by the Union Health Ministry that this time only 5 to 10 percent of the active cases of Kovid have required hospitalization. The situation is stable now, but the infection can become dangerous in the future. Let us tell you that in the second wave of corona, about 20-30 percent people felt the need to be hospitalized. A large part of the population is now fully vaccinated.
