According to reports, CSK is in discussions for the coaching staff of its South African franchise and if all goes well, then the team will coach its IPL coach and former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming. The team is talking to Fleming about this. But the most discussed and curious is about Mahendra Singh Dhoni. According to the information, CSK management wants to add veteran captain Dhoni as a mentor with the Johannesburg franchise.

Waiting for permission from BCCI

A report by sports website Inside Sport claimed that CSK also wants Dhoni to join their Johannesburg franchise in the South African league. However, for this it is necessary to get permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. In this regard, a CSK official said,

We are talking to Stephen (Fleming) right now because we don’t see a better person to carry on the CSK legacy. The decision to join Dhoni will depend on getting clearance from the BCCI. He may not play but if BCCI allows, he can be included in some role.
