Durg. Nrityanjali, the first certificate course run by the Government Girls College of Durg, is going to start from January 27. Classes will be held online due to corona infection. Therefore, the principal has said that free certificates should be made available to the girl students.
Subject experts of Asia’s first music university Khairagarh have agreed to teach free of cost for the dance form being conducted under the Department of Bharatanatyam. In this, five subject experts (former vice-chancellors and professors) of Khairagarh University have given their consent to teach free of cost on the initiative of the principal.
The college management said that it is the intention of the UGC and the Higher Education Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh that the students should be linked with employment oriented courses apart from the traditional courses. Under this the college is starting its first certificate course.
Under this, classes of 30 hours will start from January 27. After the conduct of classes by February, the girl students who have passed the examination will be given degrees. Priority will be given to girl students of girls’ college for the dance of hundred seats. After this, preference will be given to the girl students of other colleges and then to the students.

Head of Department of Dance Dr. Richa Thakur said that due to Corona, studies will be done through online method. At present, for this, a huge expenditure has to be incurred at the college level. Because of this we have decided to teach free of cost to the girl students. Most importantly, the stalwarts of a reputed institution like Khairagarh have agreed to teach free of cost. It is a matter of pride for the girl students and the girls’ college.
Seeing the status of admission, other students will also be registered
The officials of the college said that the students of Durg-Bhilai and other areas, especially the girl students, have expressed their interest to take admission in Nritanjali. According to hundred seats, girls of girls’ college will be given preference. Later, in case of seat vacancy, the girl students and students of other colleges will also be admitted.

The timetable for Nritanjali course has been released. In this, Dr. Mandvi Singh, former Vice Chancellor and current professor of Khairagarh Music University, Dr. Neeta Gaharwar, Dean of Kathak Department, Medini Sheikh Hombal, Assistant Professor of Bharatnatyam Department, Kathak artist and lecturer of Kamala Devi Music College, Raipur Dr. Aarti Singh, Government Girls College Raipur’s assistant professor Dr. Swapnil Karmahe, Bhilai-3 government college professor Dr. Bharti Sethi, psychologist Dr. Shama Hamdani, international Bharatnatyam artist Dr. G. Ratish Babu will teach the girls of Nritanjali.
Due to Corona, it has been decided to make online education free. We want more and more girls to participate in this. Many children will be able to read because it is free, they will not have any problem. The biggest thing is that stalwarts from Khairagarh to Raipur and Bhilai have agreed to this college and it is a matter of good fortune for the said students that these masters will get to know about the nuances of art.
