UP’s political riots

The term of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is ending on 14 May 2022. In such a situation, before May 14, the process of forming the assembly and the new government has to be completed. There are total 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi is the first BJP leader, who completed his five-year term in Uttar Pradesh and the party is contesting the elections by putting forward his face. In such a situation it is a test of fire for them.

Political turmoil in UP

BJP has entered the field of UP elections in 2022 in alliance with Apna Dal (S) and Nishad Party. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leaders have given full force to save the BJP’s power in the state. At the same time, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has come down with small parties with caste basis in the state to fight the BJP. In UP, the SP formed an alliance with about a dozen small parties including RLD, SubhaSP, Praspa, Janwadi Party, Mahan Dal.

Congress has entered the UP elections under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi. Priyanka is playing the women’s card and has made all the announcements for her from giving 40 percent tickets. At the same time, the 2022 election is being considered important for Dalit politics along with BSP. BSP chief Mayawati has not forged an alliance with any party and, like in 2007, is trying to create a Brahmin-Dalit equation. Apart from this, Asaduddin Owaisi in UP is desperate to establish his foothold in the state with the help of Muslim votes.
