Let us inform that on Saturday, more than 400 employees and security personnel of Parliament House were found to be Corona positive. According to reports, 65 employees of Rajya Sabha and 200 from Lok Sabha and 133 from allied services were found to be corona infected. According to a Rajya Sabha official, told news agency ANI on Sunday that till January 4-8, about 402 employees have been confirmed to have Kovid-19. At present, the genome sequencing of all the samples has been sent for testing of Omicron variants.

Let us tell you that Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu reviewed the situation regarding Corona with General Secretary PC Modi and Advisor PPK Ramaryulu. Naidu has given clear instructions that necessary measures should be taken to prevent the spread of the virus among the officers and employees of the Secretariat even before the budget session.

It was further said that 50 percent of the officers and employees below the rank of Under Secretary and Executive Officer will have to work from home by the end of January. Naidu also directed that all 1,300 officers and employees will be tested for corona. If an employee turns out to be infected, he will be closely monitored. If treatment is needed, he will be helped. The Vice President said that he himself would review the situation on a weekly basis.
