Sonia’s support behind Teesta: Sambit Patra
BJP leader Sambit Patra had alleged on June 25 that Sonia Gandhi and the Congress party were behind Teesta Setalvad. Teesta was a member of the National Advisory Committee constituted by Sonia Gandhi (during the UPA).
On the instructions of Sonia Gandhi, the Center had provided about 1.5 crore rupees for education. Teesta used this amount to publish a pamphlet to defame Modiji. The court also held that the money which was supposed to go to the poor was used for personal and materialistic uses. Teesta & Co. has made personal use of these money.
However, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has called the allegations of Sambit Patra completely fake and baseless. He said that these allegations are in direct contempt of the Supreme Court’s decision.
SC had commented on the accused
On June 24, the Supreme Court had dismissed the petition filed against the SIT’s report on the Gujarat riots. This petition was filed by Zakia Jafri. While dismissing the petition, the Supreme Court said that Teesta Setalvad needs further investigation, because Teesta was secretly using Zakia Jafri’s feelings in this case for her own benefit.
The court had said that Teesta Setalvad continued to enter this case because Zakia Ahsan Jafri is the real victim in this whole case. Teesta, according to her, was controlling them on the pretext of helping them in this case, while she was not only taking interest in this case but was also fabricating her own things, keeping a sense of revenge from the need of serving her own interests. The decision was given by the bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice CT Ravikumar.
– The Supreme Court had said that the statements of the claimants to attend the meeting of the Chief Minister in this matter were to create a political sensation in the matter. In fact, Sanjiv Bhatt, Hiren Pandya and RB Sreekumar had given statements before the SIT which proved to be baseless and false, as investigation revealed that these people did not attend the meeting called for review of law and order. .
