Guru Nanak Dev ji is being celebrated today at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib located in Kutch, Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we have ended the decades-long wait for the Kartarpur Corridor. PM Modi is addressing this function through video conferencing.

Every year from 23 December to 25 December, the Sikh Sangat of Gujarat observes the Guru Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib. Guru Nanak Dev Ji stayed in Lakhpat during his journey. Some of his articles are kept in Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib, such as manuscripts including khadaun and palanquin and Gurmukhi script.

The Gurudwara was damaged during the 2001 earthquake. Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time and he got the repair work done without delay. This initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s deep faith in the Sikh sect.

PM Modi’s faith was also visible on other recent occasions, when he celebrated the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and 400th Prakash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji across the country with great reverence and pomp. Got it done
