Attacks on Police Officers in MP . The death of three policemen, including an SI, in an encounter with poachers in Aaron of Guna district of Madhya Pradesh has exposed the high spirits of the criminals. Targeting of on-duty police officers is not new in Madhya Pradesh. The incident in Guna district has once again refreshed the traumatic incident of about 10 years, when a young IPS officer Narendra Singh was crushed by the mining mafia with a tractor. In a similar fashion, in the intervening night of Friday-Saturday, blackbuck poachers targeted the on-duty police officers and policemen and killed them. The incident took place in the forest of Maunwada near village Shahrok in Guna district.

Narendra Kumar Singh, a young IPS officer appointed in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, was taking strict action against illegal mining. Narendra Kumar Singh was a 2009 batch IPS officer and was posted as a Trainee Police Sub-Divisional Officer (SDOP) at Bamor in Morena district during his training. When he got information about illegal stone mining in Bamaur town of the district, he started strict action against the mining mafia and when he went to crack down on some criminals, he crushed to death IPS Narendra Kumar.
IPS Narendra Singh stopped a trolley full of stones
When IPS Narendra Singh went for the arrest, he was accompanied by a driver and a gunner. When on the way he saw a tractor trolley full of stones, he signaled to stop the tractor trolley but the driver started running away with the trolley. After this, Narendra Kumar got down from his jeep and went ahead of the tractor and signaled to stop it, but the driver did not stop the tractor and mounted the tractor full of stones on him. IPS officer Narendra Kumar was killed in this incident. The driver of the tractor was identified as Manoj Gurjar. Later the police arrested Manoj Gurjar.
There is a lot of illegal mining of stones in Morena
IPS Narendra Singh had seized several vehicles engaged in illegal mining and also canceled the licenses of many illegal mining people. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had also ordered a judicial inquiry into the murder. Madhurani Teotia, wife of IPS Narendra Kumar, was also an IAS officer and when Narendra Kumar Singh was murdered, she was pregnant and gave birth to a son a week after her death.
