IRCTC, Indian Railway News: The third wave of corona has started and the number of infected is increasing continuously. In view of the ever-increasing cases of corona, Indian Railways has also come on alert mode. In view of the new variant Omicron of Covid-19, many precautionary steps have been taken by East Central Railway.

Experienced doctors, nurses and paramedical staff are deployed round the clock in all railway hospitals to deal with any emergency. Oxygen plants of 500 liters per minute capacity have been installed at Danapur, Sonpur, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Sonpur and Samastipur divisions of Divisional Railway Hospitals and Central Super Specialty Hospital, Patna and they have been made functional, so that availability of oxygen is available under any circumstances. Remain.

Effective steps have been taken by the East Central Railway to get the railway workers vaccinated against Corona. As a result of this, out of about 80 thousand railway workers, more than 78 thousand railway workers i.e. about 98 percent employees have been given both doses of the vaccine. In the present context, all other protective steps are being taken including giving booster dose to the front line railway employees. At present, the total number of active cases of Kovid-19 in East Central Railway is 352.

Railways made these preparations

Apart from vaccination, many steps have been taken by East Central Railway to protect its employees from Kovid-19 and medical emergencies. In these, 06 railway hospitals have been designated for the treatment of patients of Kovid-19, where they are given proper care and treatment. A total of 228 beds have been reserved for patients of Kovid-19 in these hospitals, out of which 34 beds of ICU and 194 beds of non-ICU have been reserved. Along with this, a provision has been made for a suitable number of ventilators.

Apart from this, adequate availability of essential medicines, oxygen concentrators, PPE kits, masks etc. has been ensured for treatment in these hospitals. All necessary measures have been taken for the treatment of young children in these hospitals. Special focus is being laid on Kovid vaccination for children in the age group of 15-18 years of railway workers.

Railway on Alert Mode amid Corona Omicron

Along with the above measures to deal with the new variant of Kovid-19 in a proper way, the Railways is maintaining constant coordination with the officials of the State Governments. In this episode, booths have been set up by the state government at all the stations of East Central Railway for screening and testing of Kovid-19, where passengers coming by trains are being screened. Along with this, trains and stations are being sanitized. An announcement is being made at railway stations to follow the protocol related to Kovid at regular intervals. It is mandatory to wear a mask in the station premises and during the journey in trains. Fines are also being imposed for not wearing a mask.

Giving information in this context, CPRO Rajesh Kumar of East Central Railway said that in order to review the preparations made by the General Manager of East Central Railway, Anupam Sharma, keeping in mind the third wave of Kovid, the preparations made for its prevention and rescue, all the Heads of Departments and Divisions. Guidelines have been issued to railway managers to take all necessary steps for the rescue of railway workers from Kovid. The General Manager has directed to ensure the availability of medical equipment, medicines etc. as well as the deployment of adequate number of doctors in all railway hospitals.
