The weather was normal on the morning of 23 June. It was very humid with strong sunshine, but after 10 o’clock there was a sudden change in the weather. Dark clouds covered the sky with strong thunder and thunder. It started raining with drizzle. It started raining with cold winds. The rain continued for hours. People were stuck in the rain for hours. Working people came out with the help of umbrellas, raincoats. Due to incessant rains, many places including Shiv Chowk Road, Baniyapara, Rampur Ward, Mahatma Gandhi Ward, Balak Shala Maidan, Gokulpur were flooded in the city. At the same time, the roads, potholes and grounds were filled with water. Due to incessant rains, the land of the fields has become completely wet. Water has also been filled in many places. For the first time in the month of Ashadh, the farmers were in awe of the rain and thunderstorms, because now after the rains stop, the kharif farming will accelerate. Due to incessant rains, the farmers and laborers working on the fields returned. Now the farmers are waiting for the sunshine to bloom for farming.

64 mm average rainfall in the district

According to the information received from the Land Records Branch, 64 mm of average rainfall has been recorded in the district since June 1. Nagari tehsil has recorded the highest 112 mm of rainfall, while Bhakhara tehsil has received the least amount of 46 mm. Dhamtari tehsil has received 55 mm of rainfall, Kurud tehsil 58 mm, Magarlod tehsil 58 mm and Kukrel tehsil 54 mm. On the other hand, due to good rainfall in the month of Ashadh, waterlogging has started in the dams of the district.
