- ruckus over cricket pitch
- Congress MLA gave ultimatum
In Rajasthan, there has been a big ruckus in Jaipur regarding the cricket tournament of the son of the Water Resources Minister of the Gehlot government. Congress’s Water Resources Minister Mahesh Joshi and a Congress MLA have come face to face. Local people have opposed the Jaipur Cricket League of the minister’s son Rohit Joshi. They say that the cricket pitch has been made illegally by converting Karbala ground into a cricket ground and flags and banners have been put up all around.
Local people allege that this is the property of Waqf and permission has not been taken from the Waqf Board. The matter was about the minister who was closest to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and coming from Jaipur, so a large number of police forces reached the spot, but in the meantime, Congress MLA Rafiq Khan took the side of the protesters and asked them to stop the match.
After the complaint of MLA Rafiq Khan, other things including the flag platform installed in Karbala ground have been removed. At the same time, the police has also said to call off the match. In such a situation, police force including SHO Pradeep Singh is present on the spot.
The MLA gave an ultimatum to remove the illegal pitch at Karbala ground and said that the administration should bear the responsibility, otherwise I myself will remove the pitch made by the minister’s son from the spot. Let us inform that MLA Rafiq Khan is also a member of the Waqf Board.
