Digital Desk, Jammu. Due to incessant rains, a landslide on Saturday closed the Jammu-Srinagar highway, leaving 3,000 vehicles stuck there. This information was given by the officials of the traffic department.
Officials said that over 1,000 vehicles have been removed, following which the highway was again blocked due to landslides and stone-fall at several places in Ramban district. Udhampur and Ramban districts are receiving heavy rains along the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Strict arrangements have been made for the safety of the passengers.
A department official said all the vehicles stranded on the highway are parked at safe places. The report also said that snowfall is continuing in Patnitop and Banihal areas of the highway. The closure of the highway often leads to hoarding and black marketing in the valley.
