Three people have died in a bus accident in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday morning. The accident happened when the bus fell from the bridge.
Alirajpur SP Manoj Kumar Singh said that a private passenger bus coming from Chhota Udaipur in Gujarat to Alirajpur fell into the Lakhodara river flowing through Chandpur town in Chandpur, adjacent to the Gujarat border, 15 km from the district headquarters. Three passengers died on the spot in this accident.
The dead included Kailash, his wife Mirabai and a one-year-old child. 28 passengers have been injured in the accident, who have been admitted to the district hospital Alirajpur.
The bus included 3 passengers from Dhar, 3 passengers from Gujarat and 19 passengers from Alirajpur district. Chandpur Police has registered a case and started investigation into the accident. From the prima facie investigation, it appears that the bus driver fell asleep in the morning, due to which the accident took place.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also expressed grief over the incident. He has also announced compensation to the families of the deceased. Chief Minister’s Office said that ‘Chief Minister @ChouhanShivraj while paying tribute to the victims of the bus accident in Chandpur, Alirajpur, has prayed to God to give them a place at His feet and give strength to their families to bear this thunderbolt.
CM Chouhan has prayed for the speedy recovery of the citizens injured in the bus accident and has given instructions for their proper treatment. Chief Minister Schohan has directed the administration to provide financial support of Rs.4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and proper assistance to the injured.
