A four-month-old girl was kidnapped from Mumbai and sold in Tamil Nadu. The police have now recovered the girl. 11 accused have also been arrested. The team of Mumbai Police has recovered a four-month-old girl. It is alleged that the child was kidnapped and sold to a childless couple in Tamil Nadu for Rs 4.8 lakh. The allegation of kidnapping and selling has been leveled against the man who claimed to be the father of the girl and her associates.

According to the complaint lodged with VP Road police station on January 3, 50-year-old Anwari Shaikh told that on December 27, accused 32-year-old Ibrahim Shaikh had taken the girl from her house on the pretext of vaccination, but did not return. After this he complained about the matter to the police. The newborn mother had left the child with Anwari Sheikh. The accused Ibrahim Sheikh and the newborn mother were in a live-in relationship. The girl’s mother had left the girl with Anwari Sheikh on December 1 due to some problems related to work. Since then she has not returned. Police are trying to trace the girl’s mother.

Police teams raided and caught the accused

DCP Saurabh Tripathi, Zone 2 of Mumbai Police said that in view of the seriousness of the crime, we formed a team under the leadership of Police Inspector Vinayak Patil. With the help of technology and intelligence, the teams caught Ibrahim Sheikh. He was interrogated. After this, raids were conducted in Dharavi, Sion, Nagpada, Malad, Jogeshwari, Kalyan and Thane. Two more women and four men were arrested in connection with the case.

The arrested accused revealed that he had taken the girl to Karnataka, then reached a village in Tamil Nadu’s Salem district. On this information, the police team also went to Tamil Nadu. There the girl was recovered from a couple from Selvanpatti village near Coimbatore. Police arrested one woman and four men in Tamil Nadu. During interrogation, it was found that the girl child was sold for Rs 4.80 lakh.

The couple was assured by the doctor to get the child

During the investigation, it was found that a doctor had talked to a childless couple in Tamil Nadu about the child. The doctor then contacted other women. After this the matter reached Ibrahim Sheikh of Mumbai. It was Ibrahim who had talked about selling the four-month-old girl. Under this conspiracy, Ibrahim took the girl from Anwari Sheikh and handed it over to the other accused. Ibrahim Sheikh also claimed that he is the father of the child. After this claim, the police will conduct a DNA test. The girl child will be produced before the child welfare committee and further decision will be taken for her safety and maintenance.

Police arrested these accused

Police have arrested a total of 11 accused in the case, including 32-year-old Ibrahim Sheikh, 39-year-old Mohammad alias Sheru Khan, 28-year-old Lakshmi Murgesh Kaunder, 26-year-old Saddam Shah, 38-year-old Amjad Sheikh, 35-year-old Tahira alias Reshma Shaikh, 31-year-old Karthik Rajendran, 23-year-old Chitra Karthik, 36-year-old Tamil Thangaraj, 39-year-old Murthy Sami and 44-year-old Anandakumar Nagarajan.
