Swami Vivekananda Jayanti 2022: Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated every year on 12 January. The day is dedicated to the youth of the country who have the potential to shape a healthier and better future for India. Swami Vivekananda had a deep connection with the youth, so his birthday has been dedicated to the youth. This day is also called National Youth Day.
Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata. His real name was Narendranath Dutt. He was a renowned and influential spiritual master of Vedanta. At the age of 25, Vivekananda renounced worldly attachment and became a sanyasi. In 1881, Vivekananda met Ramakrishna Paramhansa. After which he started inspiring people all over the world as a philosopher and thinker.
Vivekananda had knowledge of religion, philosophy, history, art, social science, literature. Apart from being proficient in education, he also had knowledge of Indian classical music. The main goal of celebrating National Youth Day on his birthday is to spread the importance of the ideals and ideas of Swami Vivekananda among the youth of India. Swami Vivekananda was a great social reformer, philosopher and thinker. He was an inspiration to all the youth across the country. His education and ideals are projected as a role model for the Indian youth.
On the day of Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, programs are organized with great enthusiasm in the Ramakrishna Math, the center of the Ramakrishna Mission and their branches. Various programs are organized on this day in schools and colleges across the country. Rallies are taken out in every corner of the country on this special occasion.
