A 19-year-old Nepalese student, studying in Class 12, was arrested by the police with six kilograms of charas at the International Border in Gauriphanta area of ​​Lakhimpuri Kheri district. He was arrested by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel on Thursday. The value of the banned substance hidden in his clothes is around Rs 30 lakh in India.

The accused student has been handed over to the police. A case has been registered against him under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). He was later sent to jail. The accused Gaurifanta, a resident of Nepal’s Kanchanpur district, entered India via the border where she was caught with a banned substance. He told the police that he was given Rs 15,000 for crossing the border with drugs. She said that with the money she wanted to help her family.

Ashwini Vishwakarma, station house officer (SHO) of Gaurifanta police station, said the supplier told her that she would have to cross the border once, and someone in India would come and take drugs. He said that there are people across the border who lure unemployed youth to smuggle drugs by giving them quick money. After crossing the limit, the price of charas increases by at least four times.
