Digital Desk, New Delhi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday raided four different places in Kashmir’s Baramulla, Kupwara, Pulwama and Shopian districts and arrested two persons in connection with a TRF conspiracy case.

The accused have been identified as Muzamil Mushtaq Bhat and Fayaz Ahmed Khan.

An NIA official said Bhatt and Khan, two over-ground workers (OGWs) of The Resistance Front (TRF) were in touch with their masters in Pakistan. They have been arrested for providing logistical support for terrorist activities, spreading terrorism-related propaganda and recruiting new members for TRF, a branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The TRF and its self-styled godman, Sajjad Gul, have been actively radicalizing the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and recruiting them into terror modules to carry out violent activities in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India, the official said.

Gul is recruiting OGWs along with other TRF commanders based out of Pakistan for reconnaissance of pre-determined targets and to support Lashkar and TRF terrorists to launch attacks on security forces and carry out targeted killings. Coordinating and transporting ammunition and explosives.

The matter was registered on November 18, 2021, taking suo motu cognizance.

During the search, digital devices (mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards and memory cards), jihadi literature, posters and incriminating material used for making IEDs have been seized, the NIA official said.
