Corona Cases in Odisha: New cases of corona are increasing rapidly in Odisha. During the last 24 hours, 4714 positive cases of corona have been reported in the state including 416 children below the age of 18 years. This is the highest number of positive cases in a day since June 2021.
Khurda district has the highest number of 1619 new corona cases, followed by Sundergarh (662) and Sambalpur (437). With this, the number of active cases of corona in Odisha has now increased to 16117. In view of the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, the state administration has announced the closure of all religious places for devotees from January 8 till January 31.
At the same time, according to sources, 125 people have been found corona positive till January 8 at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela in Odisha. According to institute sources, this includes 64 students and 61 employees, including their family members.
Explain that the Odisha government has announced the closure of all schools and colleges in the state till February 1. The decision of the state government will be effective from January 10. During this all schools and colleges up to class 12 will remain closed till February 1. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the rapidly increasing corona cases in the state.
