That is, on an average, 5 patients are being received every hour. The number of patients infected with Omicron has risen to 358.

Out of this, 114 patients have become healthy or have migrated. According to the ministry, 358 cases of Omicron have been reported so far in 17 states and union territories. Omicron has the highest number of 88 cases in Maharashtra, 67 in Delhi, 38 in Telangana, 34 in Tamil Nadu, 31 in Karnataka and 30 in Gujarat.

In the last 24 hours, 6,650 new patients have been found in the country while 374 have died. At the same time, the number of active cases has come down to 77,516. So far more than 140.31 crore doses of vaccine have been administered in the country.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, Delta is still the main form of corona in the country. Infection rates in Kerala and Mizoram are higher than the national average. The weekly infection rate of corona in 20 districts of the country is between 5 and 10 percent. In two districts it is more than 10 per cent. Bhushan said that the cases of corona are increasing rapidly in Europe, North America and Africa. Asia has declined in comparison.

91 percent of the infected have received both doses
The government reported that the threat of Omicron is increasing. Omicron cases double in one and a half to three days. A study of 183 out of 358 cases found so far has found that 91% of the infected have received both doses of the vaccine and three patients have also received a booster dose. Of these, 70 per cent did not have symptoms and 61 per cent were male.

Government to study the effect of booster dose on Omicron

In view of Omicron, the center is considering giving a third dose of the vaccine. According to sources, for this a test will be done on 3000 people who have taken both the doses. In this, the body’s effect of the third dose along with the developed immunity against Omicron will be studied.

Where was the night curfew imposed?
1. Madhya Pradesh

Corona cases are increasing continuously in Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has implemented night curfew. Night curfew will be in place in all the cities of the state from 11 pm to 5 am. Apart from this, people above 18 years who have not got both doses of vaccine will not get entry in cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, gyms, coaching classes, swimming pools, clubs, stadiums. Both the doses have been made mandatory for government employees. He will also have to come on duty. Along with this, the entry of devotees in Bhasmari in Mahakaleshwar temple has also been stopped.

2. Haryana
Night curfew will be implemented in Haryana from 12 pm on December 25. Night curfew will be effective from 11 pm to 5 am. Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that in view of the possibility of increasing cases of Omicron in the state, for the safety of the people, gathering of more than 200 people should be allowed in public places and other programs.

3. Gujarat

At present, night curfew will be in force in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh from 11 pm to 5 am from 25 December in view of the Corona situation. The Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office gave this information on Friday.

Restaurants can remain open with 75% of the population till midnight under the current night curfew restrictions. Home delivery and take-away services are also allowed till midnight. Apart from this, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha have imposed restrictions in view of Christmas and New Year. The purpose of these restrictions is to stop the crowd gathering for the celebration.

4. Uttar Pradesh
Night curfew has returned in the state. In view of the increasing cases of corona across the country and the threat of new variant Omicron, the Yogi government has decided to bring night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am throughout the week from Saturday.
