Omicron threatens budget session, 50% of Rajya Sabha officials work from home

Corona’s new variant Omicron is under threat in the budget session of Parliament. The Rajya Sabha Secretariat has banned the presence of officers and employees. 50% of the officers and employees below the category of Under Secretary and Executive Officer will work from home till the end of this month. According to sources, 65 employees of Rajya Sabha Secretariat, 20 of Lok Sabha Secretariat and 133 employees of Allied Services have been found corona positive between January 4 and 8. Let us inform that in the last 24 hours, 1,59,632 cases of corona have been reported in the country. 12.4% more cases have been reported in the country as compared to Saturday. A day earlier i.e. on Saturday, 1,41,986 new cases were reported in the country.

Maharashtra tops in the new corona cases found in the country. In Maharashtra, 41,434 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. This is about 26 percent of the new figures in the country. Apart from this, 20,181 new cases have been reported in Delhi, 18,802 in West Bengal, 10,978 in Tamil Nadu and 8,906 in Karnataka. Out of the total new infected found in the country, 62.84 percent cases have been found in these 5 states.
