Kisan Rail Sri Ganganagar to Bangladesh: The country’s first Kisan Kinnu Special train has been dispatched from Sriganga Nagar in Rajasthan for Bangladesh. It will reach Bangaon railway station near Bangladesh on the evening of January 1 carrying 368 metric tonnes of kinnow by train. There is a wave of happiness among the Kinnu traders with the departure of this train.
Traders feel that this time the demand for kinnow in Bangladesh will increase the prices as compared to last year. They say that now kinnu will delight Bangladeshi people with its luster, attractive color and juicy sweet taste. On the other hand, the people of this area are expected to benefit a lot by running the Kinnu train.
By running the Kinnu train, where horticulture will be encouraged, employment opportunities will also be available. Due to foreign exports, kinnow prices may also increase. Ganganagari Kinnow is also exported abroad due to its superior quality and taste. Apart from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Australia, Ganganagari Kinnow is also supplied in Coimbatore, Bangalore, Madras, Kalighat, Patna, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Mumbai Pune in the country.
In view of the corona epidemic, kinnu has been sprayed and waxed with high quality chemicals before being sent to Bangladesh, so that kinnu can reach safely. It has been dispatched in a special VT coach. Farmer Sukhwinder Singh said that last time 3 lakh 80 thousand metric tons of kinnow were exported, but the right price could not be found. Shri Ganganagar MP and former Union Minister Nihal Chand said that Ganganagari Kinnu is known for its attractive red colour, thin peel and juicy sweetness as compared to Punjab and other states.
