Digital Desk, Srinagar. Seven tourists were rescued on Thursday from a sinking houseboat in Jammu and Kashmir’s Dal Lake due to heavy rains for the past four days. The owner of the houseboat saved the lives of these tourists.

According to the information, a houseboat named Kolahoi started sinking due to heavy rain on Thursday morning.

The report said that on seeing the sinking houseboat, the owner Mohammad Yusuf and his family, without caring for their lives, immediately evacuated the seven tourists.

Yusuf told the media that he put the safety of the tourists first than that of his family and pulled them out of the sinking houseboat.

Houseboat owners in Dal and Nigeen lakes and people around Jhelum have been demanding assistance from the government to repair their properties.
