In Nagda, Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, there was a stir in the entire city after the gas leak from the factory on Wednesday evening. A sudden gas leak started in the evening at the Grasim factory located in Nagda, Ujjain. Although it was brought under control in an hour, but due to the gas leak, a plume of smoke enveloped the city.
After the gas leak incident, the entire team of Industrial Safety Officer and SDM SDOP from Ujjain district headquarters reached the spot. Ujjain Collector Ashish Singh said that ‘Leakage of SO3 gas was received from Grasim, Industrial Safety Officer has also been sent from the headquarters. SDM SDOP and team are present at the spot. We are in constant touch with Grasim Management.
Collector Ashish Singh said that we are making an announcement in the entire area that all the people who are there, get away a little and wear the mask after wetting it. Although the primary information that has been received is that so3 gas does not have many side effects, there are mild effects. Still people are being sent from there.
He said that at present the leakage has been brought under control and an investigation has been started into what led to the incident. It is a matter of relief that there is no news of loss of life or property due to gas leakage.
