The government is alert in view of the increasing infection of corono. Let us inform that on the first day in the country, more than 9 lakh precautionary doses were given to the eligible age group. A total of 82 lakh vaccine doses were given till last Monday evening.
Let us inform that the Union Health Ministry gave this information on Monday. According to this, the total vaccination coverage of India has gone up to 152.78 crores. AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Singh Guleria also took precautionary doses as part of a nationwide campaign for senior citizens above 60 years of age, frontline workers and healthcare workers with comorbidities that began on Monday.

The third dose being administered to priority groups
Let us tell you that from January 10, the third dose of corona is being administered to priority groups in the country. Shortly before, PM Modi had announced to give doses of corona vaccine to children in the age group of 15 to 18 years in the country. Along with this, he had also announced to apply the third dose of corona vaccine to the eligible people. The registration for the prevention dose on the Covin app has started from January 8. The government is calling it a precautionary dose instead of a booster.
These people are eligible for the third dose
Please note that frontline workers and senior citizens with comorbidities are eligible for the precaution dose. For this there should be a gap of 9 months between the second and third doses. Therefore, only if you have received your second dose by the first week of April 2021, you will be eligible for the precautionary dose. Otherwise, you will have to wait until it is 39 weeks after you have received your second dose.
