Vaishno Devi News: No slip check, no care, eyewitness told the condition of administration in Vaishno Devi

A stampede broke out in the building of Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir between 2 and 3 pm in which 12 people were killed, 15 devotees were injured in the accident. The condition of three pilgrims is said to be critical. After this incident, questions are being raised about the security arrangements in the temple. A high-level inquiry has been ordered into the stampede. The incident happened on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday at around 2:45 pm. Eyewitnesses of this incident told about the stampede in Vaishno Devi that no slip is being checked here, people were coming and going on their own free will and there was no one to take care of it. Teeming crowds of devotees and a lack of supervision by authorities precipitated the stampede at the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra in the wee hours of Saturday, according to eyewitness statements. An eyewitness from Haryana who was present in the temple precinct when the tragic accident happened said there was no way to leave because of the large number of devotees milling about the shrine.
