AP YSR Housing Scheme
The Andhra Pradesh YSR Housing Corporation scheme was launched on July 12, 2019. This is the largest housing scheme initiated by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. With a motive to build model colonies for the homeless, the Chief Minister of the state, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy started this project. The government is giving all its effort to deprive the poverty out of the state.
The scheme was announced by the budget minister of the state, B. Rajendranath Reddy. This project mainly focuses on the EWS/ MIG/ LIG categories. Due to this scheme, not only the needy get home, but thousands of people will also get employment. Labors, engineers, electricians, plumbers, and many daily-wage earners can get employment.

First Phase Construction Under Progress
The first phase of the construction consists of building 15.6 lakh houses in the state. On December 25, 2020, the CM himself laid the foundation for the project. Each house will be assigned a cost of Rs.1.80 lakh. The budget finalized for the first phase is Rs.28084 crores. The second phase will be having the construction of another 15 lakh houses. A total of 30 lakh houses will be built under two phases.
Budget For APSHCL
The budget has been finalized as Rs.28,084 crores for the making of the first phase of the housing scheme. The total infrastructure of the housing colonies will take around Rs.30,000 crores. The second phase is planned to begin in 2023 with a budget of another Rs.22,860 crores. More than 15 lakh houses will be constructed in the second phase according to the sources.
High-Quality Infrastructure & Colonies
The chief minister has promised to make the houses and colonies similar to the model colonies. The houses won’t resemble any slum or poor locality. The streets are going to be well-lit, colonies consisting of banks, parks, playgrounds, community halls, and much more. Even the gates are planned to have creative designs. The budget for the infrastructure making alone is Rs.30,000 crores.
YSR Housing Scheme Layout
The largest housing layout of the YSR scheme is established in the Gunkalam colony. In this area, a large construction of 12301 plots within 397 acres will take place. The first layout in the Gunkalam colony was launched on December 30, 2020. The colonies built here will be provided with the basic necessities like electricity, water facility, clean roads, pavements, schools, colleges, banks, parks, and playgrounds.
- The plot’s value in the Gunkalam colony is currently Rs.3 Lakh. Once the construction is completed, the market value will rise to Rs.6 to 7 lakh. The beneficiaries will get these houses for free.
- A total of 30 lakh houses are in plans to construct under the YSR housing scheme in two phases. Already more than 30 lakh beneficiaries are identified by online applications.
- Out of 30 lakh houses, 15.6 lakh houses will be built in the first phase. The remaining are going to be constructed in the second phase in June 2023.
- Along with the YSR house, more than 2.62 lakh TIDCO flats will construct.

Sanitation & Libraries For The Colonies

Energy-Efficient Houses
With advanced BEE and SWISS confederation support, the houses under the YSR scheme are being built. The electricity is under the care of the department of APSECM. The indo-swiss energy efficient and thermally comfortable technology is used in designing the houses. The temperature is controlled by 2 to 3 degrees. Also, up to 10% of energy is saved.
Progress Of YSR Housing
Till now, a total of 9,668 beneficiaries got the Patta Distribution made by the chief minister. Around 39% of construction is completed till now and the rest is going to finish soon. A total of 17000 YSR Jagananna colonies have been completed. The first phase is all set to finish by June 2022. All the applicants who are identified for the housing scheme will get their house within 90 days only.

P-MAY Rural

Comparison Of YSR House Scheme With TIDCO
The TIDCO flats which are going to construct are 2.6 lakh along with the YSR scheme. The previous government of Andhra Pradesh has left a debt of Rs.3200 crores. The current government has cleared Rs.1200 crore debt till now and the rest is still to be cleared. The TIDCO scheme consists of a total of 2,62,216 houses. From these houses, 1,43,600 houses are 300 square feet, 44,300 houses are 365 square feet and 74,300 houses are 430 square feet.

YSR Jagananna Smart Town Scheme
The Jagananna Smart Town Scheme is introduced for providing homes to the needy and homeless of the urban areas. The lower-middle-class and poor communities of Andhra Pradesh are the targets of the scheme. According to the Smart Town Scheme, the beneficiaries will be provided homes within 5 km of the Municipal Corporation. These homes will be having all the necessary facilities like electricity, drinking water, borewell, street lights, etc.
The demand survey will be conducted across the selected areas on 6 June 2021 and 7 June 2021. The house allotment will depend on the annual income of the beneficiaries.

YSR Pedalandariki Illu Scheme
The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh launched the Pedalandariki Illu Scheme on December 25, 2020. Under this scheme, the government will allot houses to the poor and needy of the state. Without costing a single rupee, the backward-class people who don’t have a proper shelter can find a home. All the litigation-free areas in the state have been vacated for this purpose. More than 30.6 lakh beneficiaries will find house support with this scheme.
Flat Distribution Under Pedalandariki Illu
There are going to be two phases of the scheme. Under the first phase, which is currently in process, a total of 15.1 lac houses are going to construct. The first phase is in plans to finish by June 2022. Whereas the second phase of the construction will take care of more than 13 lac houses. The second phase is in plans to finish by June 2023. It is an estimation that the government has spent Rs.1.80 lakh per house.
YSR Jagananna Colonies Scheme
This is another latest scheme by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for the citizens. The scheme “YSR Jagananna Colonies” was launched on July 8th, 2020. Under this scheme, the eligible applicants will get land with the registration papers. They can build their houses on these lands with the support of associated banks. Till now, an estimation of 60,000 applications are accepted and more than 10,000 are under process.
YSR Jaganna Plot Details
The Jagananna Colonies plots are in the Kadapa district administration at Pulivendula town. The area granted under this scheme is 255 acres. In the vast area, a total of 754 layouts are existing with 95,549 plots. For each layout, at least 10% of the area is available for community facilities such as parks and playgrounds.
Facilities Available Under Jagananna Colonies Scheme
The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has spent hundreds of crores on this project. For the recent road repair work, the government finalized a tender of Rs.560 crores. Here are the facilities available under the YSR Jagananna Colonies project.
